DEACONS

 

              “Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, of exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, warm sympathies, and sound judgment should be chosen for this office.” (from the Book of Order, G-6-0401)

 

In our church, the responsibilities include:

  • Active leadership through faithful attendance at worship and participation in church programs and activities
  • Attend monthly stated meetings (2nd Tuesday of each month)
  • Serve on a committee of the Board of Deacons
  • Serve as liaison to a church committee
  • Serve the Sacrament of Communion
  • Participate in the flower delivery, visitation, and other services
  • Support, participate in and assist with church stewardship programs
